  • Earth Day Challenge

    Our Branford, Florida plant challenged Bell High School’s Agriculture program to a recycling challenge. The plant collected 922 items, and Bell High collected 1,121. In all, we saved 2,043 bottles, cartons, and cans and earned 10 cents for each item to go towards the Ag program!

  • Adopt-a-Highway

    In Florida, our Sumterville plant partnered with Adopt a highway to ensure the cleanliness of our highway. Plant staff spent two hours cleaning our highway for the first of four events this year.

  • John Dale Trail

    Louisville, Nebraska, opened the John Dale Trail System. This trail, named after the former Louisville plant manager and current Vice President at Sapphire Americas, was built to enrich lives and encourage outdoor activities within our community.

  • Ellis County Children's Center

    Our Midlothian, TX plant donated Ash Grove drawstring bags full of toiletries, toys, crayons, and coloring books to the Ellis County Children's Advocacy Center. The ECCAC responds to reports of child abuse and sexual assault and provides services for children and their families.

  • Sumter County School District

    Community Outreach Coordinator, Santana Martinez, received an award for Ash Grove Sumterville. The award was given by the Sumter County School District for the plant’s outstanding service to the schools in the area. Some of the activities carried out by the plant with the schools include volunteering and sponsoring school events.

  • Read Across America Week

    Our Foreman, AR plant celebrated National Read Across America Week by visiting Oscar Hamilton Elementary School and sharing the joys of reading with kindergarten, first, and second-grade classes. They also gifted bookmarks and pencils to all the students who participated.

  • Chanute PreK Career Day

    Sheena O'Brien and Josh Weber from our Chanute, Kansas plant enjoyed showing the preschoolers of Iola, Kansas, how cement is made during their annual PreK Career Day. The kids enjoyed getting their hands on some of our raw materials and took home their own hard hats!

  • Training in Midlothian

    The Midlothian, Texas plant coordinated with the Midlothian Fire Department Technical Rescue Team to use our elevated plant structures to rehearse, practice their skills, and utilize their equipment. 

  • Chesed House Driveway

    Our Branford plant had an opportunity to help out Chesed House—a local shelter for new or expecting mothers in Starke, Florida. We partnered up with Preferred Materials to aid in the completion of this project. We are excited to see this new and useful addition being put to good use.

  • Veteran's Day in Chanute

    Members from our Chanute, Kansas plant represented Ash Grove in their town's annual Veteran's Day Parade!

  • Fall Festival in Sumterville

    Our Sumterville, Florida, plant participated in the town's October Fall Festival. Their float "Ash Grove Cement-ery" was a huge hit! The team also had an informational booth with information on our plant and open positions for the community.

  • Breast Cancer Awareness T-Shirts

    Our Branford Plant donated t-shirts to their local volleyball team. Each year, a business in the community donates a pink t-shirt for the team to wear during the month of October to raise awareness for breast cancer.
